| There are so many great reasons to recieve regular massage therapy while you are pregnant. If I had to convince you to receive regular Pregnancy Massage with only one reason, it would certainly be to reduce stress. Pregnancy Massage promotes relaxation and peacefulness, and however you're feeling, so does your baby. Becoming pregnant is wonderful and exciting, yet for some women it can also be full of anxiety about labor, parenting, body image or other concerns. When a mother is stressed, her baby is subject to the same changes in stress hormones, blood pressure, etc. that she experiences. Receiving regular massage in a quiet, supportive environment, calms the mother, takes her away from the busy, fast-paced world, and creates a peaceful environment for baby to grow. So relax! Take care of yourself and your new baby and get a massage! Studies have shown that women who recieved Pregnancy Massage not only experienced lower levels of stress hormones and fewer common discomforts, but also had fewer complications during labor and fewer premature births than those who did not receive massage.* *Journal of Psychosomatic Obstetrics & Gynecology, 20, 31-38 Being educated is also a great way to reduce the stress of the unknown.
